This blog post is based on my particular area of central Tokyo. As this is a very popular ex-pat area I figured I would share some of the info that it took me a little while to acquire!

We have had a great experience with Pet Life since we moved to Japan. They are able to not only give the right vaccinations but able to also send them in to get the rabies tags etc and then send them to your house. This is really convenient as the other option is to wait in line at a local park during a certain time in April, which was way easier! They are also really nice, professional and sweet with my little boy! The doctor also speaks fluent english which makes the process run very smoothly. They also do teeth cleaning where they put the dog under at a super reasonable price compared to the states.

Pet life was able to help us get all the necessary paperwork and shots for our little Winston to be able to travel back to the states if he needed to. We were a little concerned at the start of this pandemic trying to plan on how we would return to the states if things got worse in Japan. However, they were very accommodating with our request and helped guide us through the steps in case we did need to leave last minute. It is a bit overwhelming and not something you can do quickly, so I would say give yourself at least a month or two to start the process before you plan to leave.

When ever we can't find a friend to watch Winston or want to expose him to social situations, we have him go to this incredible place called Dog. Inc. They are able to come and pick him up from the apartment and deliver him right back to us. Check out their website for pricing!
Dog Grooming

Green dog is a nice, high-end place in Tokyo Midtown. They have a point system which you can use for discounts within the store and has a large viewing window where you can see the grooming taking place. Its a nice mall to spend time while you wait for your little one to be done and they also speak English. A standard grooming costs around 12,000 yen.

Japanese Speaking Only / Translates emails in English and easy to work with as a non Japanese Speaker
This place is an affordable option and in my opinion one of the more skilled groomers we have used. They always seem to know how to get Winston exactly perfect from head to toe. They are cash only and his standard cut, wash, and teeth cleaning combination is around 8,900 yen ($89 US).
One of my favorite things about this place is the progress emails I get to receive after his cut that include photos of his bath and of the cutting process. They are absolutely adorable and so sweetly written. They even print out a photo and put it on a little calendar that I can pin up on the fridge! They also do boarding here during the day and at night but at night there is no attendant.
They do not speak English so we mostly communicate through email which they translate but haven't had any issues!

This has a small outdoor area but with the weather being as mild as it is in Tokyo it is a fantastic place to brunch outside for the majority of the year. A great place to bring the pup and also have some good bites! I personally am obsessed with the french toast that comes on the side of most items on the menu.

Roppongi

This place is fantastic! The best part is that they have a menu for dogs! The human food is also beyond tasty which makes this one of my favourite restaurants in all of Tokyo and a great spot for vegetarians. They have a wide selection of vegetables to grill up and the price is very reasonable. Please note, only the Roppongi location allows dogs and I believe due to COVID-19 they are only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday so make sure to call ahead!

They allow dogs to sit inside so this is a great option for when the weather isn't great. They offer bar type food, good salads and according to my husband, great wings!
